One of the things you need to consider giving your son on his upcoming birthday is a bike. Therefore, stop wondering what to give him and get him one. Bikes, on the whole, are gifts that surely get the nod of the teenagers. Bikes whether they are mountain bikes, fixed gear bikes, or BMX are always appreciated by teenagers.
Because biking is one good cardio exercise, there is no question that a bike is one good present to your teenager. People who don't want to exercise in the gyms do biking as a way for them to burn calories, strengthen their leg power, and increase their stamina. Beyond the shadow of doubt, if someone does biking, he doesn't feel like he is exercising at all.
The truth of the matter is that many people do biking without the intent of exercising. These people simply ride their bike for leisure purposes. Thus, your teenager will surely enjoy the view that he and his friends pass by if you get him a bike. But you have to remember that fixed gear bikes are not suitable for biking on places with rough terrains. A mountain bike will be ideal for rough terrains.
Another reason why you should get a bike for your teenager on his upcoming birthday is that he can use it as a mode of transportation going to school. Even if he already has a student driver's license and he is of legal age to drive a car, going to school riding a bicycle is still much better. With the constantly rising fuel prices, many people these days prefer to go to work or school riding their mountain bikes or fixed gear bikes. Apart from exercising, they get to save some money, too.
But, of course, if you are planning to gift your child a bike on his birthday, make sure that you give him a helmet, too, regardless of the type of bike you give him. The head of a rider can be protected by a helmet in the event that he meets an accident.
With all of these things, there is no reason for you not to buy your child a bike on his upcoming birthday, especially if you know that he will be thrilled by it. However, make sure to remind him to take biking precautions every time he rides his bike.
